 I'm a garden writer and author with a tiny, but plant packed garden in East London. This is my blog about gardening, as well as a safe deposit for curious lists, trivia, anecdotes and just about anything else that takes my fancy. Despite the title, it has absolutely nothing to do with greyhound racing - it is named in honour of a local landmark and once fine stadium that is now sadly closed.

Can you see the bubbles coming out of the ‘mouth’? Yuk
Godzilla egg?
Hmm, well, you’ve called the picture ‘YUK’ which suggests that whatever it is has a nasty smell, or taste, so that might indicate durian or morinda. But it doesn’t look like either of those. Then the bubble clue is a bit intriguing. Bubble tea contains tapioca, so it could be a cycad seed pod and the “Yuk” might indicate that you personally hate tapioca… dunno.

It looks like a bit of Yorkshire pudding batter that is both burnt and undercooked at the same time, left stuck to the tray overnight and then ripped off and eaten first thing in the morning when a sudden burst of the munchies makes it look edible. And, indeed it is both edible and really rather good…
